What is Salvo?

Salvo is the "Fortnite of sports betting" — a real-time, skill-based, social-competitive sport prediction strategy game.

We're not tweaking the sportsbook. We're building a new category over the top of live sports: prediction strategy. Fast, accessible, social, competitive, and fun. Synchronized to actual live games in real-time. Follow the game action, and play over the top. Salvo is sports at the speed of Gen Z.

We are already live with Major League Baseball, with every major American and Global league on our roadmap — the NFL to the NPB to the EPL to the IPL. Yes, soccer and cricket are coming.

How to play Salvo?

Anybody can pick up and play Salvo, from dedicated seamheads to casual fans to buddies who just happen to be on the couch with you.

Once you select a MLB game, you’re immediately in the action. Predict whether the next pitch will be a Ball, a Strike, or Hit / Foul / Out. Next, it’s time for strategy. Choose which wildcard to play. Wildcards can add coins to your total, subtract coins from your opponents, or execute many more in-game tactics. Choose wisely!

Salvo moves quickly, pitch by pitch. The results of the pitch comes in, coin scores are counted, and the lowest score takes a strike. Three strikes and you’re out – and the last player standing, wins!

Where to play Salvo?

You can play Salvo on your iOS device or Android device. Salvo is optimized for both phones and tablets. Go to the App Store or Google Play to download now!

Coming soon, you’ll be able to play Salvo directly from salvo.gg via mobile web.

How to behave on Salvo?

Salvo is a player-first platform where everybody is welcome, Yankee fans and Red Sox fans, Dodgers fans and Giants fans alike.

There is zero tolerance for racist, homophobic, misogynistic, anti-semitic or otherwise targeted hateful language. It’s not cool.

No harassing, threatening, doxxing or bullying other players. No explicit sexual or NFSW content (usernames, etc.). No spamming, trolling or self-promotion.

Everybody loves a bit of banter, us included, but we know you know where the line is. No need to cross it.

Salvo reserves the right to issue suspensions and outright bans based on violation of our terms.

However, the only gaming product that's ever monetized that passion is sports betting — but sports betting is a hardcore game, too intimidating for most audiences, and too flat to work as a direct free-to-play game.

The only option the sports betting industry has ever offered is, pick a side, place a bet, wait to find out if you were right. It's intimidating, high-consequence, expensive, antisocial, and slow.

Sports betting is markets, not a game. Differentiation comes only through loss-lead offers and sign-up bonuses. Growth comes only via jurisdictional expansion. Razor-thin margins. Users often churn the moment the promo dries up.

The US sports betting industry has another fatal flaw: it is locked in an unwinnable CAC spiral, incinerating billions to trade the same 10M high-frequency bettors. Prediction markets have only accelerated this spiral, opening new states but offering no new products, pushing up CAC, while bringing in additional regulatory scrutiny.

Meanwhile, 150M casual sports fans sit on the sidelines, unengaged and unmonetized. That's not a problem, that's the largest untapped audience in all of gaming.

Salvo is a new category of sports betting, the first to work at scale in both free-to-play and real money gaming. Salvo is simply more fun.

What is the market opportunity for Salvo?

160M Americans watch sports every month. 73M self-identify as avid fans, watching multiple games a month while seeking out sports-related content. 55M have tried sports betting at some point…

But only 10M Americans bet every month across all the available sports offerings, sportbooks to daily fantasy to prediction markets. Incumbents have capped out their TAM and are fighting over market share with loss-leader offers and sign-up bonuses.

The sidelined 150M American non-bettors want stakes, but they want it in a low-risk, highly social, gaming-native format.

Salvo captures this untapped market without the friction, or the regulatory uncertainty, that constrains our real-money competitors. We are more accessible, more social, more fun, designed for sports fans who want to play along continuously to the sports they already love, with their friends, rather than sit passively back and hope their bets come good two hours later.

If you want to play free-to-play, great; Salvo is an optimized, best-in-class F2P experience. If you want to heighten the experience with real-money, great; Salvo provides increased stakes with real-money sweepstakes and, eventually, daily fantasy and more.

We are not building a better sportsbook to steal DraftKings' users. We are opening a net-new category — we will open it, define it, and own it.
